The journey back to Pandora

By 2154 the humans exhausted every single earth’s natural resources. The Resources Development Administration (RDA) is in desperate need of a new resource, unobtanium.
This new resource is found on Pandora, a new world whose atmosphere is poisonous to the human body and is habitated by 3.0 meter blue talls humanoids called Na’vi who live synchronized with the goddess nature called Eiywa.

The human scientist have created Na’vi-human hybrids called avatar in order to explore Pandoras biosphere and obtain the unobtanium. Jake Sully, a paraplejic military is promised a way to recover his legs if he manages to get inside the Na’vi society, earn their trust and make it easier for the militaries to obtain their desired resource, however Jake realizes how wrong is what the humans really want and joins the Na’vi in the fight to protect their territory and their goddess nature, by the end, the Na’vi triumph and humans are sent back to the earth with exception of Jake.

What a way of ending the movie Avatar, or at least that’s what we thought. James Cameron, the director of the Terminator franchise, Titanic, Aliens, Avatar and co-developer of the 3-D Fusion Camera System have just promised a sequel for the 2009 film. Avatar 2 is to be shot on 2013 and Cameron revealed: “I want to get these scripts nailed down, I don't want to be writing the movie in post production. We kind of did that on the first picture, I ended up cutting out a lot of scenes and I don't want to do that again.” (Totalfilm.com, 2012).

James also confirmed that he that the planned sequel for avatar and the finale of the trilogy are both in the script process and are being realized back-to-back, or to be clearer, at the same time. “I am in the process of writing the next two ‘Avatar’ films now. We are planning to shoot them together and edit them in post-production together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart.” (james-camerons-avatar.wikia.com)

In regards of the production and crew that would work in the avatar sequels it is confirmed that James Cameron is going to be the writer-producer-director of the two films. Music is rumored to be in charge of James Horner. The cast starring the movie would feature: Sam Worthington, Zoë  Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Loyal to his innovations in technology for his movies, (for example 3-D in Avatar), James Cameron confirmed that Avatar might be shot at 48 fps instead of the regular 24 fps, depending on the acceptance this frame rate obtains from its exposure to the audience in the movie “The Hobbit”.

As mentioned before the movie is to be shot in 2013, but Cameron has confirmed that the release date for Avatar 1 would be Christmas holidays of 2014 and for Avatar 3 would be one year apart, so we might expect the end of this trilogy to be in the Christmas holidays of 2015.
