Why videos go viral?

Why do videos go viral? How does that affect the entertainment industry?

As Youtube trends manager, Kevin Alloca explains, in a world where you receive 2 days worth of videos in less than a minute it seems impossible to be famous or become big inside this world. However,  thanks to platforms such as youtube, it is possible to become a popular star in less than a week thanks to the community participation, unexpectedness and the tease makers as Alloca explains in the video above.

The most populars videos of youtube receives more than 4 millions views, or as the most popular video in youtube, gangnam style, can receive up to more than a billion views and grow viral in a couple of days, this is known as community participation. Thanks to this community participation people has become well known as "youtube stars" with videos that grows viral in a couple of days or week, an example could be the Nyan Cat, The Double Rainbow, Honey boo boo, Rebecca Black, Prank vs Pranks among others, who receives more than 4 or 5 million views on their videos due to its unexpectedness and creativity, but why is this so important in the entertainment industry?

Its just necessary to remember that big stars such as Justin Bieber and the most recently known K-Pop singer PSY, started as big youtube stars before giving "the big jump" into hollywood an its celebrity circle.

The power that Youtube has to reach a massive number of people is what gives it the better assets to create stars in the days that basically everything, at least in the entertainment industry, is delivered via internet, making this platform the cheapest *free* way to promote new artists that hope to get lucky and submit and unexpected, creative video that can boost up you career as an entertainer in the youtube world and hopefully make a star, or celebrity out you.

PSY, for example, with the most - seen video in youtube that had reached more than a billion views has become a world-wide known star thanks to its music video known as Gangnam Style, this along proofs the power of Youtube to create new celebrities, which affects directly the Entertainment Industry in the way its promotes its growth and how it expose their new talents and artist to the world, which it is valid to remember, that without talent theres no industry. Watch out for youtube taking over the industry.
